It is very easy in life to become so insanely interested in something that it consumes one's every waking thought. It is just as easy to suddenly and inexplicably lose that interest and turn back into a normal human.

And thus it has happened to me. I haven't written anything for over a year, haven't updated my website in just as long and haven't even posted on my livejournal for many, many months now. I'm just over it.

So I've taken down my website, removed all but two of my fics from ffn and am retiring into the mist to live a long and happy life.

Perhaps my only regret is that Lunae will forever remain unfinished. Of all the things I contributed to the vast and ever-evolving fandom that was Harry Potter, Lunae was perhaps my favourite. It is with deep regret that Lunae, Solaris and Sidereus will forever be locked in their battle between light and dark, and they will never get the deeply unhappy ending I felt their story deserved.

Thank you to everyone who ever wrote a kind word about my fic, everyone who ever supported me when I was feeling low and most especially to those that, during the heady rush that was pre-book5 fandom, I called a friend. The memories of this I will carry for a lifetime.

But mostly, thanks to JK Rowling, without whom some of my best, most empowering and sincerely treasured memories I would be without.

[LJ Edit: Thank you also to Kay and Armand. You both provided light in a time when I often saw only darkness. Know that you gave me far more than you will probably realise. My inbox is always open to you. And to Gideon; well, you know. Perhaps we'll meet again.]

Well, it has been a fair while since my last post, so I thought I'd update everyone on what has been happening in my life.

Firstly, I haven't been writing. Hell, I've barely been reading. I'm kinda done with the writing now I think.

But I did get a new job!!! Brilliant job really, in IT(-ish). I'm thrilled to pieces, not only because it is going to be fascinating, but I get to do a bit of travel and the pay is tonnes more than I was getting.

I start next Monday. *dances a little jig*

Also, [info]lixtetrax, I've heard from [info]gideonjones and he is very apologetic about his lack of Christmas update. He is going to type it all out and post it as soon as he has a chance.

And [info]riverfox? Any possible hint on the next Trilogy installment? *looks hopeful*

*stops looking hopeful and dances another jig* Woohoo!!!

Yep, still alive Jan. 16th, 2006 @ 09:48 am
Hi all,

Still alive. Had a great Christmas. Fabulous New Year's Eve (happened to choose a location on the beach with only about 10 other people, and not 20 metres from the surprise fireworks).

And now, I'm heavily in application mode for a new job that will pay double what I'm currently earning for much more interesting work. Selection criteria are on my notebook, application will be emailed on Tuesday and hopefully I'll be in an interview within the next two weeks. *crosses fingers*

Oh, and last night I got drunk, fell over in the shower and broke my toe. OW!!!

And now:

[info]lixtetrax, are you waiting for me to email, or do you have it?
[info]gideonjones, you still haven't posted about your Christmas... *hints*

Look - She Lives! Dec. 7th, 2005 @ 11:47 am
I know, I haven't been around for a while. And I haven't even been anonymously reading my FL either. I've just been...gone.

I really have no idea where I've been except really busy, and I don't see it stopping any time soon.

So, here is what I need to say:

[info]lixtetrax: I am in no way writing Lunae at the moment, but it is now back in place on my vast to-do list.

[info]riverfox: I have read Trilogy 4. I have squealed at the Adriann/Eros! I almost squealed at the thought of Jalen coming back to Earth to show Alex what he has been missing, but then obviously didn't. And I am firmly waiting for the next installment.

[info]gideonjones: Where the hell are you? Answer my emails, dammit!

And on an unrelated subject. I am extremely annoyed with writers that will write a fic but totally fail to label it as Mpreg, so it isn't until you are halfway through that you realise that a very manly character has just got knocked up. I loathe Mpreg, so it was a shame that it was well written and with fair charactisation and only a handful of grammatical errors. I did contine reading for a little bit as the story promised it would be a temporary measure, but then Jack started crying and saying he was going to keep the alien baby, and my poor PocketPC was almost flung against the wall in distaste.

I cannot stress this enough. Mpreg should be a warning the same as Character Death and Non-Con. A lot of people don't like it. Write it by all means, but make sure you FUCKING LABEL IT!

"If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or moritified) about what people remember about you."

My ideal Christmas present = Jerome Pradon in nothing but the shiny leather pants and the smirk. God. *licks*

You are 36% geekYou are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.

Normal: Tell our geek we need him to work this weekend.

You [to Geek]: We need more than that, Scotty. You'll have to stay until you can squeeze more outta them engines!

Geek [to You]: I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain, but we need more dilithium crystals!

You [to Normal]: He wants to know if he gets overtime.

It's my Birthday today! *dances*

Am now in possession of really cool gadget, set of square dinner plates and a gold bracelet. *dances some more*

In other news:

[info]riverfox, I've seen Trinity VII, have downloaded it and will hopefully get to read and comment this weekend.

[info]gideonjones, you are an idiot. Call her. (And thanks for the card. *kisses*)

And I have a long weekend this weekend, so I'm looking for fic. Anyone got any suggestions?

List five songs that you are currently rocking the living hell out of. It doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist, and the song in your blog along with your five songs. Then tag five other people to see what they're listening to.

1. Holiday - Green Day (This is my current favourite)
2. Mother Love - Queen
3. We are the waiting - Green Day (I have the album, so I'm enjoying them all right now)
4. Handel's Messiah (All of it really, I know if isn't one song...but there you go)
5. O Fortuna from Carmina Burana - Orff.

There. Now...tag five people... [info]lixtetrax, [info]evilwildlex, [info]kay_taylor, [info]alkaloid and [info]briargate.
